Follow the Twelve Imams

Shia Muslims believe in twelve divinely appointed Imams who succeeded the Prophet. These Imams are infallible guides chosen by Allah to lead the Muslim community.

The Twelve Imams are:

  1. Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib
  2. Imam Hasan ibn Ali
  3. Imam Hussain ibn Ali
  4. Imam Ali Zain al-Abidin
  5. Imam Muhammad al-Baqir
  6. Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq
  7. Imam Musa al-Kadhim
  8. Imam Ali al-Rida
  9. Imam Muhammad al-Taqi
  10. Imam Ali al-Hadi
  11. Imam Hasan al-Askari
  12. Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi (in occultation)

Following the Imams means learning from their teachings, emulating their character, and recognizing them as the rightful interpreters of the Quran and Islamic law. The Twelfth Imam, Imam Mahdi, is believed to be in occultation and will return to establish justice on earth.
